Do I need a referral?
No! Georgia is a direct access state, so you have 21 days or 8 visits (whichever comes first) before a referral is needed. A referral can be written by your primary care physician, Nurse practitioner, Physician assistant, etc. if needed. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING A REFERRAL WITH YOU TO HAVE ON FILE IF YOU’D LIKE.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your initial evaluation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, goals, movement assessment, and individualized treatment planning. Treatment is always tailored to your comfort level and needs.
Is an internal pelvic exam required?
While an internal assessment can be very helpful and provide valuable information about your pelvic floor, it is never required. It will only be performed when clinically appropriate and with your informed consent. Your comfort and boundaries always come first.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing that allows for movement is recommended.
How long are appointments?
One hour. Initial evaluations and follow-up visits are one-on-one and designed to allow time for individualized care, education, and treatment.
Do you accept insurance?
Knit Together Physical Therapy is a cash-based practice, which allows for longer appointments and highly individualized care without insurance limitations. Payment is due at the time of service.
While I do not bill insurance directly, patients may request a superbill to submit to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes the information your insurance company may require to reimburse you for physical therapy services. Coverage and reimbursement vary depending on your individual plan.
Do you accept Medicare?
At this time, I am unable to see patients with Medicare coverage in my cash-based practice. This is due to Medicare regulations that apply to physical therapists, even when services are provided on a private-pay basis.
If you have Medicare as your primary insurance, I’m happy to discuss your options and help you determine whether Knit Together Physical Therapy may be a good fit for you.
Can pelvic floor therapy help during pregnancy?
Yes. Pelvic health physical therapy can help address pregnancy-related pain, pelvic pressure, core and pelvic floor coordination, labor preparation, and postpartum recovery planning.
How soon postpartum can I start pelvic floor therapy?
Many individuals benefit from pelvic PT within the first few weeks postpartum, depending on delivery and medical clearance.
Do you offer mobile visits?
Yes! Knit Together Physical Therapy is currently a mobile practice, offering in-home visits within a designated service area. I’ll come to you, making physical therapy convenient and personalized in the comfort of your own home.
Contact me to see if your location is within the current service area.
How many visits will I need?
This varies depending on your symptoms, goals, and stage of recovery. Some patients benefit from only a few visits, while others require a longer treatment plan. YOUR TREATMENT PLAN WILL BE INDIVIDUALIZED TO YOU.
Do you have a cancellation fee?
Yes. Appointments are reserved specifically for you. I kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be charged 50% of the scheduled visit fee. Patients who arrive significantly late may need to have their appointment shortened or rescheduled. I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations can arise, and exceptions may be made at the discretion of the practice.
Thank you for respecting my, your, and other patients’ time and helping me provide quality care to all patients.
